Summary N°2

In this class, we spoken about the differences between speaking and writing, I think that is easier speak than write why? Because when you speak have interaction with the listener and the speech is dynamic, the conversation can be extremely important or only informal, also we can express ours emotions the manner more directly that for example in a letter.

Whereas a written text has the character of objects, they are persistent and static (spatially but not temporally organized) you can do changes how one word or some mistakes but exit the rules. You should to be careful with the punctuations marks between others factors that are very important.

Both are important in our learning, we must develop these 2 abilities, if I don´t understand when speak, I have practice, is the best manner to learn.

Summary N°1

In this class, we spoke about the communication that is the process of sending and receiving information among people. Exits many ways to communicate, the most common are:

· Speaking

· Writing

· Visual images

· Body language

In my opinion, the Venezuelan use a lot of Body language because, in my case is more quickly than the others, but many people understand with Visual images, Speaking or Writing, through these 4 process we can communicate with others people.

The Spoken language in an interaction where both participants are present, also it can be used to informal vocabulary, is spontaneous and instant, hence give the opportunity to rethink or rephrase an utterance.

The Speakers should have credibility, attitude toward the subject, the listener and self, furthermore the message should have content, style and a structure, also we can find the listener, who is the person that receive the message, channel, is the way or the manner how you send the message and the situation can be physical setting or social context.

comment about the videos posted by Lidia Govea(oral expression)

Well, I saw the videos and all I can say is that:

Ø The 1st video is about an Asian boy producing the impromptu speech because he had like no time to organize his ideas, he was talking about his 1st teacher and all he knew in English was: yes and no.

Ø The 2nd video is about a little girl, and to be honest I understood 80% of the words produced in her speech, but I have noticed the memorized speech. Because she was talking about fragments of poetry(or songs) and in the minute 0:50 she forget about a word and look out of the camera range, so I believe that she is having a pointer or something like that in order not to forget about what she is talking about.

Ø In the 3rd video we can see a brunette girl reading a poem. She is obviously Miss Manuscript Speech; she is reading the speech because it is important to use the exact words.

And the last video, our 4th video, is about a girl trying to persuade her partners NOT TO SMOKE because it is expensive, deathly and addictive, plus it doesn’t affect just to you but to all people around you. This video is about Outlined Speech or Extemporaneous
